Guests Preview New Season at Fall Experience
PBS’ chief content officer John Boland was the featured speaker at WKAR’s first “Fall Experience” event for major donors on September 18.
Boland spoke to guests about the changing nature of media and how PBS is embracing that change. In addition, guests also saw preview of some upcoming fall programming, learned about 90.5 WKAR’s 60th anniversary, learned more about digital television and WKAR’s online efforts and heard about WKAR’s community service efforts, including Radio Talking Book, TeacherLine, Ready To Learn Service, and video interstitials highlighting Michigan State University.
Speaking on behalf of WKAR were general manager DeAnne Hamilton, TV station manager/programmer Kent Wieland and radio station manager Curt Gilleo.
A dessert reception followed.
The event was made possible, in part, by contributions from LAFCU; Loomis, Ewert, Parsley, Davis & Gotting PC, Attorneys at Law; Mid-Michigan Physicians, P.C.; Roma Bakery, Deli & Fine Foods; The Coffee Barrel and Smith Floral & Greenhouses.
